Reflecting on Living ‘In Between’ Silence and Song, Darkness and Dawn
This Advent season feels different for me. Perhaps, I finally get it! I’m living in a space between silence and song, darkness and dawn. As I am losing my job at Eastern Nazarene College, I’ve been wrestling with grief, uncertainty, and so many questions about what comes next. And I know that so many are wrestling with tough questions, loss and grief these days.
In this reflection, Living Between Silence and Song, I explore how Zechariah’s song in Luke 1:67-79 and John the Baptist’s call in Luke 3:1-6 speak to those of us who are in a season of waiting—waiting for hope, for clarity, for God to move.
This isn’t just a message; it’s an invitation. I’ve included five moments of personal reflection for you to pause, connect your story to the themes of Advent, and open your heart to God’s presence in the wilderness.
If you’re navigating grief, longing, or simply wondering where God is in the “not yet,” I hope you’ll listen. Share with a friend. Let’s hold onto the promise together that the dawn is breaking, even if it’s slow and faint.
